2018 YMCA Souper Bowl Success

YMCA Football Season Comes to a Close with Community Spirit & Community Service

On Saturday, November 3rd, YMCA teams came together for a favorite YMCA annual tradition. Fans, athletes, cheerleaders, coaches, volunteers and YMCA staff enjoyed a day of football, fellowship and community service. This year’s event, hosted at Messmer Stadium and Griffen Stadium in North Desoto,  included 28 tackle football teams and 10 flag football teams, making up almost 700 young athletes from our community.

ADMISSION: $1.00 + 2 donated canned goods per person OR $3 per person (Maximum of $5 per family)

Collected canned goods were donated to a local food pantry, Mary’s Place at the River Valley Church.

The Souper Bowl has been a Y tradition for over 20 years. Thanks for joining us for this fun day to celebrate the finale of the 2018 YMCA Youth Football season. Each year the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana looks forward to this event as an opportunity to highlight the Y’s three focus areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. We believe that when we can bring people together in a way that encourages these focus areas, our community grows stronger and everyone wins. Everything the Y does is in the spirit of building a better us in Northwest Louisiana.

Special thanks to volunteers Will Awagu, FCDallas,  and LSUS Men’s Soccer.
