YMCA Strong Kids Campaign

At the YMCA one of our most important goals has always been to enrich the lives of kids in our community. But when some are left out it leaves us all a little poorer. That's because giving kids a safe and nurturing place to go benefits everyone. By introducing them to experiences that will help them grow into responsible, successful adults, we make the community we love a better place to live. One child at a time. One family at a time. YMCA programs teach young people important values such as caring, honesty, responsibility and respect. Through a variety of fun and rewarding activities, they also develop valuable skills while they gain confidence and self esteem. You simply can't put a price on strengthening and enriching the character of a child.

Membership and program fees at the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana do not cover all the costs to support these vital community programs. To ensure that no one is denied a chance to participate because of an inability to pay, we need your help. Through the YMCA's annual campaign, Discover the YMCA, your contribution helps us provide program support and financial assistance to families who need it in our community. Only by working together can we give more kids the opportunity to grow in spirit, mind and body.

Financial assistance is based on ability to pay. It is the policy of the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana that no person be denied membership or program participation by reason of inability to pay fees. Funds made available for financial assistance are provided through the YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign.

At the YMCA, we strive to make sure that every child's day brings about bigger and brighter achievements - but we can't do it alone! Your contribution to the YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign ensures that children who are unable to pay are included in programs that will teach values that will positively impact their lives and the community we live in.

Your donation to the YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign is one of the best investments you can make in your community's future.

YMCA Strong Kids Campaign - Chairman's Message

The YMCA's Strong Kids Campaign is an impressive volunteer effort, with many volunteers who share the YMCA's story and encourage friends, family and colleagues to invest in strong kids, strong families and strong communities.

"As a member of the YMCA Board of Directors, I have had the opportunity to experience the variety of activities that the YMCA provides for our community. I am honored to serve as this year's Strong Kids Campaign Chairman. The YMCA is proud to be able to continue its mission to help children grow up with the positive values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. The YMCA is for the entire family: every year youth learn to swim in our aquatics program, play in our baseball, lacrosse, football, soccer and basketball leagues; youth spend the summer at one of our two summer day camps; kids spend their time at one of our two after school sites; senior citizens participate in our water aerobic classes; and teens participate in our fitness classes and workout on our strength and cardio equipment.

Our Strong Kids Campaign ensures that no one is denied the opportunity to share in the YMCA experience due to an inability to pay. We are asking for your help and financial support to continue our mission of shaping young lives for positive growth. Help us build strong kids, strong families and strong communities by investing in our YMCA Annual Campaign."
- Betty Henderson, YMCA Strong Kids Campaign Chairman
