2017 Alana Beard Water Safety Event

WNBA Champion and Shreveport, Louisiana native Alana Beard hosted her second annual swim safety event at the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana on July 21-22. Beard participate in the two-day swim education program. Children ages 11-18 participated through Common Ground Shreveport. Friday evening consisted of an out-of-water safety presentation, a light dinner, and swag bags with tshirts, swim caps, water bottles, and coupons provided by Nike, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Sportspectrum, USA Swimming, and Chick-fil-A. Saturday morning it was time for everyone to get in the pool with our YMCA Swim Instructors for swim survival skills and lessons. A good time was had by all and we hope the kids learned some invaluable skills throughout these 2 days with Alana and our YMCA Aquatics staff!
