[Shreveport, Louisiana – April 9, 2018] – One year into its life and the BHP Billiton YMCA is exceeding expectations on every level. The facility’s exponential membership growth and program development is a testament to the community’s desire to grow stronger and healthier. Gary Lash, CEO of the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana, is proud to announce that Raymond Lee will serve as the new Executive Director of the BHP Billiton YMCA branch as of March 2018. Lee steps into this new role following 12 years of leading the association’s Youth Sports Department in addition to being a key member of the management team.

Lee grew up in Shreveport/Bossier, where he and his wife are raising two children. He is very active in his children’s schools, sports and other activities by serving on boards, volunteering, and coaching. Lee has coached and officiated soccer in area for over 22 years at the recreational, select, high school and Olympic Development Program levels. A member of First United Methodist Church, he enjoys being active in his Sunday School class and weekly small group. Lee is a trained facilitator for the Darkness to Light program, which aims to protect children from sexual abuse through awareness, prevention, and reporting. He has also participated in educational offerings through the YMCA of the USA. Lee’s character, experience and dedication to our mission will serve the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana well as we continue to move our community forward in our focus areas of youth development, healthy living, and social accountability.
